Another exciting season for the Indian Premier League (IPL) has begun, and this year Tata Motors is hosting the tournament with Tata Punch EV as the official car. This marks a continued commitment from Tata, not only as the title sponsor of the IPL for the third consecutive year, but also as a champion for sustainable transport in India.
Punch EV will have exclusive on-ground integration at all IPL matches, with branding across the tournament’s digital and telecast, announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Tata Motors, India’s leading automotive brand. IPL sponsorship is the platform that Punch EV is looking forward to using to reach millions of cricket fans in India.

Punch EV, a recent addition to Tata’s electric vehicle lineup, follows in the footsteps of Tata Tiago EV. These efforts reveal Sand gives a picture of Tata’s commitment to innovation and to shaping an electric future. Tata Punch EV is available with two battery pack options: 25 kWh and 35 kWh. Each unit is fitted with an electric motor that goes down in a hail of praise for its extremely high performance and power.
The 25 kWh battery pack generates 80bhp and 154 Nm of torque, whereas the 35 kWh battery pack will stir excitement among the performance enthusiast as it offers 120bhp and 190 Nm of torque. With its 25 kWh battery comes a claimed range (MIDC) of 315 km and another variant with a 35 kWh Battery offers a range (MIDC) of 421 km.
Tata had previously unveiled Punch EV as the designated car for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. Moreover, Tata announced that it is the third time Tata Group will be the title sponsor for the Indian Premier League cricket tournament in 2024. Tata started its sponsorship involvement with the IPL back in 2018 and since then has put the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari versions as official cars of the competition on display.
The IPL in itself is a national event that is grooming and nurturing the country to uplift the adoption of electric vehicles and for this, Tata is partnering as a vehicle partner.
