The founding chairman of Rangs Group, A Rouf Chowdhury, has passed away. He was 85 years old. He was instrumental in establishing Bank Asia and served as its Chairman.
According to Bank Asia sources, he died at his residence around 12 noon on Saturday (February 18). He died of old age complications, confirmed Mostafizur Rashid Bhuiyan, Executive Director, Rancon British Motors Limited.
Rouf Chowdhury’s first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Gulshan Azad Mosque today. Later, his mortal remains will be shifted to his ancestral home in Munshiganj, where a second Janaza will be held after Esha prayers before his last rites.
He is survived by one son and two daughters, Romana Rouf Chowdhury, Romo Rouf Chowdhury, and Sohana Rouf Chowdhury. Romo Rouf Chowdhury is currently serving as the chairman of Bank Asia.
Rouf Chowdhury was the founder and director of Mediaworld Limited. He has built about fifty organizations. He completed his graduation in Business Management from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States.
